1. Medical Declarations

  1. All students participating in a PADI / SDI diver training programme are required to complete mandatory PADI / SDI course documentation in an honest and reliable manner. Any known medical conditions must be declared and notified to DivExplore, prior to the start of any water based dive course. Failure to declare medical conditions in accordance with the PADI / SDI Medical Declaration form which then later becomes known will result in student suspension from the course until a satisfactory medical certificate has been gained.
  2. If for any reason there is a change in your medical circumstances, a new medical declaration must be completed and signed by your GP to be able to continue with your course.

2. Course Deposits and Fees

  1. Course fees are payable via Monzo bank transfer, card payment link.
  2. A minimum deposit of £300 is payable at the time of booking the SDI / PADI Open Water Diver Course, with the remaining balance to be paid 2 weeks before Course start.
  3. 4. A deposit of £200 is payable for any Advanced, Rescue and all speciality courses, remaining balance to be paid 2 weeks before course start.
  4. 5. Due to the upfront costs for pool hire, eLearning, tank fills, etc the deposits are binding and non-refundable.
  5. For PADI / SDI PRO courses (Divemaster) a crewpack is also required at an extra cost from the course fee and this will need to be paid in advance.
  6. Deposits and payments are valid for 12 months from the date of purchase.

3. Cancellation, Late Payments, Refunds and No Shows

  1. You should be certain that you meet all the medical criteria for the course of your choice prior to starting any scuba diver course. Any cancellation of a course due to your failure to correctly fill in the medical declaration will result in a deposit loss to cover administrative costs and expenses.
  2. No Shows’ are when you fail to turn up for a scheduled session without giving us any notice. Payments made for the session will not be refunded or credited to a future session.
  3. Should you need to reschedule a course or experience with less than the required notice period then a rescheduling fee will be applied. Rescheduling a course or experience after the start time of that session is classed as a ‘No Show’
  4. If you are unable to attend a course, or part of a course and provide more than the required notice period for that course, we will endeavor to reschedule your course to another date that is suitable to you without any rescheduling fee. We do not provide any refunds and any part payments made for courses will remain in credit on said account for up to 1 year from booking date.
  5. Failure to complete the full course requirements for any reason caused by the student, will result in additional charges being made to complete the course at a later stage. This includes not being able to demonstrate competence to meet the performance requirements as laid down by the PADI / SDI Course Standards. If you are not willing to pay the additional fees to complete your course, a referral document will be issued to you which will hold good for a period of 12 months from the date of the last portion of the course completed.
  6. In the event that a situation arises and DivExplore is unable to deliver your course on pre-arranged dates, we will endeavor to give you as much notice as possible and will re-schedule your course. DivExplore requires a minimum of two students for a course to run unless the course is a private booking.
  7. Diving is weather dependent; hence we reserve the right to change the dive site or dive date at short notice.
  8. Divexplore is not liable for any loss due to cancellation as a result of inappropriate weather conditions.
  9. Changing course dates – Should the original course date not be convenient, it may be possible to transfer dates once at no extra charge.  However, subsequent postponement or cancellation will incur loss of all fees paid.
  10. DivExplore does not operate a refund policy. Monies remaining on a student account can be used as credit within DivExplore for that student or another named party for recreational scuba courses. This may exclude the booking deposit if a course was not attended within the required notice period.

 4. Administration and Self Study

  1. You will be required to complete and sign various course documentation before each course including, but not limited to a course learning agreement, a safe diving practices statement, a liability release and a medical form.
  2. Copies of these forms will be sent to you via email and expected to be returned before commencing of the eLearning study.
  3. Additionally, you may be required to complete pre-course work in readiness for review. Your booking deems that you agree to submit this pre-course work by the relevant deadline, and also agree to arrive for sessions by the designated time.

 5. Inclusions & Exclusions

  1. Course Materials & Certification are included in your course fee. With exception of professional courses (Section 2.5)
  2. Divemaster Registration Fees are not included and are payable directly to SDI / PADI.
  3. Equipment and gas fills are not provided for any course other than Experience Programmes, and Open Water Diver.
  4. Equipment hire for other courses is available at a reduced charge of £25 per day plus any additional air fills .
  5. We must stress that you are liable for the cost for repair or replacement of equipment you damage or lose during your course or during a period of hire.
  6. Course fees do not include travel, entrance fees, or accommodation. Neither do they include any boat fees.
  7. For all recreational courses we provide all equipment apart. If we have fitting issues then we will do everything we can to hire equipment from outside sources subject to availability. For Pro courses (Divemaster) we strongly recommend you invest in your own equipment prior to the course, although we will supply all equipment required. However equipment will be prioritized to students on recreational courses first and then pro courses. Please note that DivExplore will not cover the costs for any hiring of equipment for students on pro courses due to fitting issues or insufficient stock levels.
  8. DivExplore does not provide transport to the Confined or Open Water dive sites. We will make every effort to try and get you a car share with another student but if this is not possible you will be expected to make your way to the site by your own means.

6. Personal  & Credit Card Details

  1. We are required to hold your personal details for a period of 7 years as required by PADI / SDI. We will at all times treat your details with respect and will not share them with any other company. Credit card details are not held after full payment of your course has been made.

7. Course Deposits, Rescheduling & Admin Fees

  1. If you cancel your course outside of 48 hours due to illness we may reduce your rescheduling fee but we will require a medical certificate from your GP within 7 days. Failure to provide us with a medical within 7 days of the original course date will result in the listed Rescheduling Fee for that course. Cancelling a course or experience AFTER the start time of that session is classed as a ‘No Show’ (Section 3.2).
  2. If you have any YES answers on the day of your course then you need to get a Doctor to sign the form to say you are fit to dive. If this has not been done you will not be able to dive and will be charged the full rescheduling fee as listed below.
  3. While we strive to ensure that all prices on our website are accurate, errors may occur. If we discover a pricing error in any item you have ordered, we reserve the right to cancel the order and issue a full refund. We will notify you as soon as possible if this situation arises.
